We live in South Carolina & I have seen a few Catahoula puppies and adult dog mixed Cat breeds turned in to our local shelter. There is a GREAT Cat rescue in Texas (find them on Facebook). They help transport Cats all over the country. Catahoulas are AWESOME especially dependable since they are great with kids and adults. Can't tell you how many times I have heard about them saving kids and adult lives. They are EXTREMELY bright and loving souls!! Can't wait to find my next love!

Where do you live? Because i live in Wisconsin, & we were lucky to get my catahoula at our animal shelter, but they are rare that they show uup at our shelters. I was just wondering because they are very great dogs with people, and kids.@feisty2day

I adopted a catahoula/dutch shepherd mix almost a year ago and he is the greatest dog I could have EVER asked for! :)

My little Catahoula looks exactly like Howie except she has one blue eye and the other is Half brown/Half blue.... She is an awesome dog and wouldn't get rid of her for the world. Good Choice - I can't wait to get home from work everyday to play with her!!!!

they are by far the BEST dog to own. I've got one and wouldn't trade her for a billion dollars! smart, very protective, very good family dog and just a great companion to have by your side. i just wish afghanistan would allow pets :-(

Gore... or as he is now know as "howie" is obviously from a shelter. That is were we got him.
