SSIK started in 1991. SSIK is KISS backwards. SSIK is pronounced "SICK". SSIK is from Austin, TX. SSIK plays obscure songs from the early years of KISS through 1978. SSIK does not wear the KISS makeup or costumes! SSIK is a KISS cover band not a tribute act. In an interview Gene Simmons called SSIK stupid. SSIK has never played "Rock And Roll All Night" or "Detroit Rock City". SSIK has played "Room Service, Love her All I Can, Shout It Out Loud, Two Timer, Ladies In Waiting, Goin' Blind, Doctor Love, Love Gun, Getaway, Strutter, Nothin' to Lose, 100,000 Years, Got To Choose, All The Way, Let Me Go Rock and Roll, Strange Ways, Shock Me, C'mon And Love Me, Flaming Youth, Sweet Pain, Black Diamond and Snowblind. SSIK has also played "Beth". SSIK in other bands: THE LIFTERS$, BROKEN TEETH, DANGEROUS TOYS, SHANDON SAHM. In Austin SSIK has played: Emo's, The Backroom, Stubbs, Auditorium shores, Steamboat, Electric Lounge, Babes, Liberty Lunch, Red Eyed Fly, Continental Club, Flamingo Cantina..and lots more stinky places. SSIK has played: Dallas, Austin, Houston, San Antonio, Waco, Corpus Christi, and Killeen. SSIK retired in 1997. SSIK makes a comeback in late 1997. SSIK releases "Dressed To Ill" CD seven live tracks plus two studio tracks recorded in 1996. SSIK plays the KISS Expo in Dallas Oct. 17, 1999. SSIK has been in the top five cover bands in the Austin Chronicle readers poll since 1994 SSIK FINALLY WINS BEST COVER BAND AWARD IN AUSTIN CHRONICLE MUSIC POLL MARCH 2000. Big time movie star 'Russell Crowe' and his band "Thirty Odd Foot Of Grunts" come to see SSIK and take over the dressing room. SSIK just goes home, except Yeti who stays and gets drunk. SSIK is featured on "Lick It Up A Millennium Tribute to KISS on Versailles Records SSIK has been together 19 fuckin' years!!
