With a club like that, the Mets must have won 3 or 4 World Series ! Too bad we just remember the 86 club because the 85, 87, 88 and even 90 were great but failed... Just too bad also that the wild card didn't exist in those days because the Mets would have been in the post-season every year ! BTW, cool video with a great song...

@pwb5150 Probably so, but I still believe that God was telling us Red Sox Fans that we were only have to wait 86 years for our next World Series Championship, that is why God delivered us from being one strike away from losing to the Angels in the 1986 ALCS. Think about that!

For those lucky enough to watch the 1986 Mets play throughout a glorious Spring, Summer and Fall - you were blessed as a Mets fan. From the scintillating series against the Houston Astros to the unbelievable win during Game 6 of the World Series and eventual World Series win. The Mets found a place to overcome; somehow, somewhere the Baseball gods were kind to them. It was a memorable year. Great job with the tribute.

@Jiltedin2007 Don't forget that in '86 the Red Sox hadn't won a World Series in 68 years...68 reversed is 86. 2004 was 86 years after the 1918 WS. A message was definitely being relayed by whoever pulls the strings in this vast universe! ;)

I'm an Orioles fan... but damn did I LOVE the '86 Mets. Such a crazy and entertaining group... and one hell of a team led by the great Davey Johnson. The '86 Mets and the '98 Yankees are by far the two best teams I've ever seen. Would be one hell of a series to match those two up...
