  • Segway Pimpin!

  • Very cool idea, but what does it do on a hill?

  • Minor problems with this have already been pointed out; uses up battery; but the other major point hasn't been covered. Somebody walks up, gets on it, and drives away.

  • @avatarelite they still havnt dropped and batteries arent much better. Untill they can go as fast as a bike, as convienent as a bike they can never replace a bike. Its not that new and its not that practical but hopefully it will improve.

  • @paintballgundown8 So what you are saying is that computers should never have been invented because "normal" people could not afford it when it came out? Prices will drop, don't you get that? Everything new is expensive! That's how the economic system works.

  • great idea. Would have made a great patent to license to the makers of of the segway. Unfortunately, unless you filed a patent application on April 26, 2008, at the latest, you've lost your chance. Under the patent statute, you have a 1-year grace period to file a patent from the date you disclose your invention to the public.

  • if it cost as much as a bike then maybe it would have caught on but it is basically a toy for the people who can afford nice toys

  • Patents are bad.

  • Most of them that are sold atm go to business's and you don't even see that many in the places that buy the most its funny that cant seriously be making a profit.

  • Without the patent I think we'd see kids version of this thing for under $300. Kids would be using this all over the place.

An adult version might cost $500 or less. Lots of people would be using it in bike lanes.

It'd become an accepted new form of transportation. New types of bike lanes might get constructed for them.

But, Sageway makes sure it'll only trickle out as a rich people's toy. They produce only as much as their lazy asses feel like.
