  • @aydog I know I'm responding to a pretty old comment here, but as a Husker fan, I honestly believe that Nebraska didn't deserve to play in the '02 Rose Bowl. If my memory serves me right, Oregon was the team that should've been playing the Canes in Pasadena that night.

The fact that Nebraska lost to Miami probably makes it a lot easier to say that, but I knew after the loss to Colorado that Nebraska was in deep trouble. That was the beginning of the end for Solich.

  • @CRXPhil he did play well but out don't think he neccesarily outplayed ward. if u recall his touchdown pass was a fluke because it was tipped and caught by another receiver who wasn't his intended target. lawrence phillips scored the other td (with no pt after) and the kicker ended the scoring with a field goal.

  • @mongoose704 you do realize that in the 2001 national championship game, the halftime score was 34-0 right? they could have easily scored 70 points and shut out nebraskas offense (one of the huskers tds came off a punt return). ppl always talk about how close the boston college game was, but any true football fan knows that divisional games are the hardest ones to pull out. TEAM SPEED is what made the 01 canes so great, picture what they would do to any team given a month to prepare for them

  • @chrisfraire21 The 01 Canes didn't come close to playing the second best team in college football. Colorado beat Nebraska worse than the Canes did just prior to the title game. The 01 Canes beat only one top ten team all year and that was #4 Nebraska. They are held in high esteem because of hindsight. Some of their players on the roster did well in the NFL meaning they developed into great players later. They strugggled against a much inferior Boston College team and barely beat Va Tech

  • @CaneTenacity Touchdown Tommie was MVP in the loss to FLA St. so thats 3 national championship mvps in a row, out playing Heisman winner Charlie Ward.

  • Tommy also went to 3 consecutive National Championships, won 2 of them and was named MVP of the 2 he won. Back-to-back National Champion QB. 4 year starter. 33-3 record as a starter, a Big 8 Conference record. Won the Johnny Unitas. Finalist for the O'Brien, Maxwell and Walter Camp. Named to Sports Illustrated's All-Century Team. Just absolutely decimated the UiF Crocs in a 62-24 ass beating in the Fiesta Bowl, making that memorable 75 yard TD run

  • @chrisfraire21 - Tommy was a beast, love the kid & his heart, determination. Nothing against Sapp and Ray Ray, they're both NFL Hall of Famers - but the '01 Canes D had: Antrel Rolle, DJ Williams, Ed Reed, Kelly Jennings, Phillip Buchanon, Rocky McIntosh, Johnathan Vilma, Vince Wilfork, and the late Sean Taylor. All those guys named are all in the NFL as starters - except Buchanon, he's on the Redskins though. 4 of them are Pro-Bowlers this past year. DJ was a Pro-Bowl alternate behind Ray Lewis

  • @chrisfraire21 Tebow barely played when he got his 1st ring

  • @chrisfraire21 Tebow's first ring came with Chris Leak as the starter.

  • tebow gots 2 rings just like frazier so lets no take anythin away frm tebow , but if warren sapp n ray lewis cant stop frazier, dont know if 01 canes could either
