Amtrak Regional Train 164 blows our doors off at Fairfield

Amtrak Regional Train 164, the train from Washington D.C. to Boston, led by a pair of AEM7 toasters, 908 and 923 and 8 Amfleet I coaches, blows off our doors as our train, train 6530, the 1:07 express from Grand Central Terminal to New Haven, sits at the Fairfield station. Eventually, we catch up to 164 in Bridgeport, and then meet up with it again when we arrive in New Haven. In New Haven, I took another video of it, as it departed the station. You can see that video on my page. Train 6530 had a 9 car consist today, with 3 sets of M2's and an M4 triplet buried in the middle, with 8816 (the M2 car I am in) as the head car. The video was taken on December 29th, 2007.

On Metro-North's New Haven Line, we still don't have the M8's yet so all of the MU's don't have automated announcments.

Sometimes the engineer does it, but it mostly is the conductor or the automated machine.
