@Flamorgan We had a period over here like that too. American built cars between about 1973 and the early 90s were just absolute shit boxes. They gotten somewhat better, but they are still not up to the standard of Japanese or European cars. The largest growing car company in the USA is KIA. Many of the Asian manufacturers build over here now. The cars are not as good as the Asian built cars, but they are better than our own brands, Chevy, Ford etc. Both my cars are Japanese built.

@Flamorgan Have you thought about moving to the republic or to the U.K. I have some friends from the Belfast, they couldn't leave fast enough. 1 of them lives over here in New Jersey and a couple of them live just outside London, 1 in Epping and 1 in Ware. They are doing quite well.

@Flamorgan The average wage in Poland is just over $18k in the U.K. the average is just over $44k. I think it is more likely you were fed a croc. I think they only told you it was the quality, it is much more likely that it cost half as much in wages to produce something in Poland looking at the average wage of your two countries. I doubt quality had anything to do with it, no matter what you were told. Why do you think all the Poles go to UK for work? Not because they earn less in the UK

@Flamorgan Everyone I worked with at Cosworth did an awesome job. All the British military I met also did a "bang up" job. They were amazing, much better trained than we were in the USAF.
-
@Flamorgan So tarring all British workers with the same brush is not really fair then is it. I bet you were not the only one who took quality seriously.

@Flamorgan So any more examples of British engineering copied from someone else and it didn't work? You didn't show me anything from motorcycles and your example of the Tu-144 was a complete loss. The Brits beat the "Russians" Soviets on that one. So what other examples do you have?

@Flamorgan I know about Ernst Degner. Why are you being anti British? The Brits ruled (along with the Italians) for a long time. I am not taking anything away from the Japanese, but to say that the 250cc and 350cc machines raced against the 750cc and 1000cc Brit bikes back in 1959 (when Honda first arrived at the IOM TT) is simply not true. The 125, 250 and 350cc bikes did not race against the 750 and 1000cc bikes. It simply is not true.
