Barack Obama Schools Uhuru Heckler in St. Petersburg, FL

Sen. Barack Obama (D-IL) takes an idiot publicity-starved heckler to school during an economic town hall meeting in St. Petersburg, FL on August 1, 2008.

Diop Olugbala, a member of the socialist Uhuru movement, joined several other hecklers in shouting down Obama at a key moment during his speech. Instead of harshing on the young men, Obama told them to sit down and wait their turn to ask a question. Olugbala got his turn...and Barack schooled him! You can hear John on the tape politely asking Olugbala if he has had a hearing problem during the entirety of Sen. Obama's career. Big ups to the guy in front of Olugbala for ripping Olugbala's backup protest sign from his hands!

the APSP/Uhuru Movement is a REVOLUTIONARY movement- meaning that it's not interested in handouts, but in overturning the paternalistic state that doles out welfare to its exploited masses. It's funny how reactionaries conflate all political ideologies opposed to mainstream capitalist values; it betrays the deep ignorance in which the American 'marketplace of ideas' leaves its consumers. BTW, I am not an APSP member, though I sympathize with the Uhuru movement.

LOL...so basically, Obama showed that he is unwilling to speak about the systemic barriers to the uplift of African people, instead focusing on atomized issues like 'civil rights violations' and 'the disproportionate effect of predatory loans on African Americans'- civil rights which mainstream politicos have ignored since the 60's, loans which were supported BY DEMOCRATS. Good job at showing the divergence of interests b/w capitalist parties and the African masses.
