I'm writing from a remarkable place in the world, an extraordinary ranch - Hacienda San Joaquin. A friend of mine purchased this property and created beautiful and affordable home sites (property and home: $100,000 - $300,000). I shot this video with the owner of one of the properties at the ranch. Seeing is believing. Enjoy the video and have a look at the ranch's web site: www.VilcabambaHomes.com

  • That's we would like to hear from Vilcabamba, even if those videos mean publicity. Great English presentation for Real State in Saint Joaquin Farm!

  • Thanks...Vilcabamba is beautiful and only those with a strong desire to leave the US and other places will nake the move so I think it will remain pristine for many years...

  • Leave ecuador to the ecuadorians. Retirees buying land in 3rd world countries cause the climate is nice is pretty outrageous. What about contributing to your own country, your own community? What about the ecuadorian worker who sees the price of land blow out to 1000 years wages so foreigners can live like kings in his homeland? Its wrong

  • @alexandersager From what I read...and i live in Mexico..Ecuador is just fine...Manta seems to be a real up and coming city. they use the dollar..which personally I view as a downside...but latin America in general is altogether pretty great.

  • South Ecuador is a paradise and everybody gets along. the small towns are the best places to love in. I hope vilcabanba don't get so crawded in few more years, best ones.

  • what the other guy try to said is that you are not welcome to ecuador if you try to buil malls, do mining, extract petroleoum, start building superstores, start traying to impose an north american mentality, try to put schedule to everything, try to hide or isolate yourself from the rest of the country as you do it in US. latin peple in one side, black in other whites in the.

  • how much would it cost to live in comfort in Vilcabamba monthly

  • Vilcabamba has always been a place for people from the south of Ecuador to retreat, rest and recharge batteries. I hope they have a good plan for new residents to settle so it wont get overpopulated and the fragile nature spoiled.

  • What a horrible criminal city!

  • So remote, gee looks like hippy land.

  • why?

  • I was robbed at gun point in Miami beach.

I've also had my car broken into many times while living there and someone siphoned the gas out of my tank (destroying the gas tank door on my car in the process).
