Otaku1990 in Japan - Life-size Gundam statue ("Real G")

A video I recorded during my trip to Japan in summer 2009. Please excuse the poor video quality.

This is a look at the life-size statue of the RX-78-2 Gundam robot, located in Odaiba. This is part of the project "Green Tokyo".
It seems that every half hour, the statue turns its head, while every full hour it emits steam.

The Gundam statue has been destroyed by the earthquake in Japan this morning. The quake separated the towering mecha at its knees.

Ever seen Evangelion 2.22? Remember the scene where the Angel NOMs Rei's Eva unit? Yeah, it's a lot like that. God, it looks ridiculous.
