Brand new... Coral Springs, near University and Westview.

This is a weird, new, and interesting wash, with downright brutal "MicroClean" cloth cleaning action! I mean 'brutal' in the best way, though. It scrubs gently, but it means serious business! Bad-ass...

The side brushes are MicroClean on this one, and the top brush is NeoGlide. On anyone else's machine, NeoGlide wouldn't do much, but Sonny's manages to make NeoGlide work wonders for them. Check out the Busy Bee Car Wash video to see a pair of NeoGlide side wraps absolutely demolish bird poop and road gunk!

These washes are apparently pretty expensive, but have a lifetime warranty. Slick.

As for the weird commentary, I'm on the phone with Mason. He's never seen one of these babies in action before... well, before now :)

  • The sonny's baywash i5 looks like a Ryko Softgloss XS car wash.

  • @araflygare Kinda does, yeah. The most noticeable differences in appearance are that the wheel scrubbers have been replaced by two high pressure blasters, and the tall rear brushes are free to swing instead of being fixed vertically.

The difference in operation is like night and day...

  • i spoke to a sonnys rep and he was telling me that this machine was one of the first prototypes for the i5. i will post some videos of the one i just finished installing. huge difference

  • Somehow I figured it was a prototype... Sonnys is based down in Fort Lauderdale, after all. The machine works great. I love that it has pendulum style rear wraps, so it actually follows the outer slopes of of a car unlike... someone else's out there *coughRYKOcough*

I love the bumper/rocker panel/wheel blaster system. Great stuff there.

  • I used this machine tonight, the Microclean has been replaced with Neoglide or some other foam cloth in c-channels. It's a lot less... slappy. It still cleans like a total dream though. However, it seriously needs some means of rinsing under the air deflector on a hatchback! Lots of foaming conditioner came running down the rear glass during the dry cycle. Maybe some rinse nozzles on the rear of the gantry facing forward, fired on a short timer during the start of the rinse/protectant cycle?

  • i install these in the texas oklahoma region and this is on of the best machines on the market. the equipment on the bay wall makes me sick. too much contamination possibilities. is there no boost pump on the undercar? it wasnt crazy strong. ive never seen one with assorted brushes.

  • The Baywash i3 appeared to be a rebranded Christ Genius machine. I wonder just what changes Sonny's makes to them, if any...?

  • How did the wash clean with the microclean cloth. Also you might know, does Sonnys put micro clean on their top brushes. They never say if the top brush comes with it.

  • how big was the trettle

  • Yeah, I wondered about that weirdness on the wall! I've never seen anything else like it. It looks more like the condiment bar in a fast food joint...

The mix of brushes is pretty interesting. Microclean wraps with soft cloth at the bottom of the tall ones, and a Neoglide top brush.

The undercar wash reached the ceiling! I think it does have boost.

What part of this system is mounted inside that Otto Christ cabinet? Also, does the Baywash i3 actually exist? I've seen sample pics of it...
