The Day My God Died é o nome de um documentário sobre a luta de pessoas contra o tráfico de crianças para exploração sexual no Nepal.

The Day My God Died is a feature-length documentary that presents the stories of young girls whose lives have been shattered by the child sex trade. They describe the day they were abducted from their village and sold into sexual servitude as, "The Day My God Died."

The Day My God Died documents the tragedy of child sexual slavery and profiles the courageous abolitionists that need our support.

Narrated by Tim Robbins & Winona Ryder

"The first night they forced me to have sex. When I refused, they held me down, beat me and raped me. I was seven years old."
-- Gina, who was raped by 14 men on her first day in the brothel. She is now dying of AIDS.

"I am not actually a victim. I am a survivor working as a strong activist against trafficking. I will live and work to help others and eventually die here."
-- Anita, who now lives in a shelter for rescued child sex slaves

"First you have to learn to take them as your own child. Then you will feel the sorrow and then the strength comes out from you to protect them."
-- Anuradha Koirala, founder and director, Maiti Nepal

  • Youre right missjclee. Its sad. and maybe the child sex trade is most common in poor contries.

But child abuse occurs at every socio-economic level, across ethnic and cultural lines, withing all religions and at all levels of education.

In USA an estimated 906,000 children are victims of abuse & neglect every year. The rate of victimization is 12.3 children per 1,000 children.

  • what can anyone say??

  • Hard to say. Maybe: "I will help to fight child sex trade." ;)

Please visit the sites who support the girls and make donations. Its a start.

  • have visited kathmandu many times.

majority of the brothel owners are Nepali men and women who are having huge buildings and houses in Kathmandu,Nepal.

brothel owners houses can be found in Jorepatti, kapan,Boudha, etc.

these nepali women brothel owners are normally very fat ladies who made huge money in girls prostitution business & had build big houses in kathmandu, pokhra, etc

90% of nepali women/men are involved in women trafficking trade and their money comes from india,UAE,Isreal, etc

  • Its sad and touching. This is not only the duty of maiti Nepal but of all Nepalese

  • I agree that there is some organizations helping these poor woman in Nepal which runs with the help of U.S or other countrie's donation. The development and progress is very slow . There is high rate of corruption there in Nepal. So the funds collected is of no worth.Although i beleive that Mrs. Anuradha is trying her best to help the victims. I hope she will move ahead in this field without any greed, with full confidence and determination.

  • Israel is a tier 3 country, if you want to know what that means, look it up. Go figure!

  • When people get caught in this industry (both users and the people who force the kids into this life) they should be put for showing in the local town square and then sentence to life in prison

  • The hate and violence that humanity inflicts upon itself is limitless, and this is only the smallest example of it. It's everywhere and eternal, and yet we will still fight it.

  • Deam It, this is a mad world, dead mad world!

  • Agree with brgoogle. As an American I'm more concerned with child abuse in the USA versus attempting to tackle cultural practices in third-world countries. Here we can make a difference.
