When Bert Jones returned from an early season injury he helped to lead the Colts to three consecutive victories (with major help from Greg Landry) and the rest of the Colts.
The Colts beat the Bills at Buffalo on Jones return, but the focus of the clip is the week 9 contest against the Patriots. Jones, Joe Washington and the rest of offense has a great game, but it all came down to a goalline stand by the defense. The stand was highlighted by Ed Simonini's tackle at the two and a deflection at the goalline (I think also by Simonini) on the last play by the Patriots.
Jones was hurt early in the game against the Bengals in week 10, Greg Landry played a near perfect game the rest of the way in leading the Colts to their third straight victory.
Note: Retired players, please contact your representatives about making available for purchase the original broadcasts of games from this era. Or a reasonably priced boxed set of yearly highlights (example, a 1970's Colts highlight film box-set featuring every yearly highlight film from 1970 to 1979 for about $20).
The same can be said for the Game of the Week films (box-set) or the weekly highlight films. For example, the complete15 episodes of the 1972 season of This Week in Pro Football in one box-set collection for about $20.
These films are wasting away in vaults when they should be in every Colt fans video library.
The revenue from the sales of the games from your era could be used for your pensions and medical issues.
Colts belong in Baltimore! To this day I still say Baltimore Colts and have to correct myself!

Bert Jones was still a solid QB in 1980 but the Colts were in decline

I still say that Indianapolis should be stripped of the Colts name and history, and it should revert back to Baltimore. Losing your team because they leave the city at 3am is simply terrible, and a black mark on the record of Pete Rozelle. Not preventing the Colts move was a greater mistake then the use of scab players in 1987.
