The largest solar boat in the world has set sail from Monaco at the start of a world tour aimed at promoting the use of sustainable energy. The 'Tûranor', a Swiss creation, is set to become the first ever boat to circumnavigate the world using solar power alone. (SF/swissinfo.ch)

  • they should take a path that is not so depenant on sun to really prove it's value.

  • next time use flexible solar, like uni-solar panels, those moncrystilline can break very easily, you can at least walk on the uni-solar panels and they work good on overcast days too!

  • why dont they use this on tankers ?

  • Solar powered super tankers hauling oil could reduce shipping costs, and lower the price of gas!!
