Synopsis:
A film that presents a day in the life of a reindeer herder brigade in Chukotka, Siberia northeastern
furthest region, deep in the Tundra along the coasts of the Bering strait.

The film is an ambiental portrait with no narrative lines, pretends to transport the viewer into the tundra landscape, using image and sound, the soundtrack is mixed live, with ambient sound and field recordings captured in location and mixed with a live musicalisation through effects and other musical processes mixed live.

Context:

During september 2006 Carlos Casas travelled to Siberia (Chukotka) to produce a documentary on
Whale hunters, which will be release early 2008 (with the soundtrack of Sebastian Escofet), during that period Casas develop extended fieldwork in different parts of the Chukotka region, from that material different film fieldworks were develop and presented in different contexts from art galleries to festivals, like Netmage in Bologna Italy, Sonar in Barcelona, Abracadabra in Moscow, Multiplicidade in Rio de Janeiro. With these documentary fieldwork Casas pretends to present an audiovisual sonic landscape
experience that pretend to uncover the inherent visual, sound and cultural layers of the geographical places he captures.

"The work of Carlos Casas stands in the crossover of documentary and visual arts, trying to extend the boundaries of contemporary visual experience, with the manners of an anthropologist and the goals of a visual artist, his works documents with poetry and accuracy environments and people who are slowly disappearing, since 2001 works on what he calls an End Trilogy dedicated to the most extreme inhabited landscapes of the planet (Patagonia, Aral sea, Siberia)"

Carlos Casas finances his expeditions co-producing documentaries and other documentary work,
His works can be seen in festivals, galleries and museums around the world.
