Where are the voices of women and girls in conflict zones? Where are their voices in decisions that affect their lives? These questions motivated the International Rescue Committee and writer/photographer Ann Jones to produce A Global Crescendo: Womens Voices from Conflict Zones in 2007 and 2008. Through photography, women and girls in the Democratic Republic of Congo, Liberia, Cote dIvoire, Sierra Leone and Thailand documented their lives and made their voices heard, both locally and globally. I love this! Male over domination seems to be a global problem. Once the invaders from the North sought to dominate and overpower the African Nations sexism followed close behind. Today over 90% of counties are still male dominated. Meaning there's an imbalance in education, entertainment, Justice system, Medical Profession, Business, etc. and America leads the way. Many European, Arab, Asian and African countries are ran by insecure MEN. American is no exception. We need to send them back!
