The method is the same for threading the Singer 66K. Full instructions for threading the machine, filling the bobbin and loading the bobbin in the machine. The machine shown is a 1927 Singer 99K which featured in the video showing the removal of the motor. The 99K is a very reliable model which produces an excellent stitch. Manuals for old Singer machines can be downloaded from the Singer website www.singerco.com

  • hello, im new to this, and the problem is when i turn the wheel, the take up lever or needle do not move. can anyone help?

  • @0naTaLu0

Hello OnaTaLu0 - The needle is disengaged, which is what you should do when winding the bobbin. To re-engage it, turn the stop motion screw as far as it will go clockwise. It is the big metal disc in the middle of the wheel. If you still aren't sure which part I am talking about, watch the last bit of our machine cleaning video, part 1. If it works, don't take it apart. If it doesn't engage, it might need a clean out.

    Best of luck,

    Regards Muv

  • Great video, I was wondering if you could tell me how to set up the timing where the bobbin sits? When I turn the handle so the needle goes in to the hole it does not pick the thread up? I'm not to sure how to solve this. Hope you can help

  • @MrRickycowley

Hello Mr. Cowley, It sounds very frustrating. If the machine is not damaged, has no parts missing, is cleaned, oiled and threaded correctly, there is no reason why it should not work. Have you got the right bobbin for this machine, is it loaded into the machine correctly, and is the needle properly set in and threaded from right to left? It is surprising how many people set the needle wrong and thread from front to back because they are used to modern machines.

  • Great demo but #i got a flash back why i hated dealing with sowing machines at school ahhhhhh.

  • @tinkamyra Just pour yourself a stiff gin and try again.
