Sukhishvili - Khorumi , new version at New Year Eve, Batumi live 01/01/2011

This is the new production of the warrior dance, performed by Sukhishvili - Georgian National (Folklore) Dance Company. The premiere took place on 23/12/2010. The whole performance, and exactly this dance was amazing to watch live. I can honestly say that it was an unstoppable, energetic blizzard, like a tornado, and an unforgettable experience, and positive energetic as always . I took videos of some of the dance, but sadly, I forgot to turn off the night-vision, and it became gray and very poor quality, and also because I could not take my eyes of them; my almost terrible operation skills do not allow to take a normal video. So I was happy to see this new production at a live TV program.

Some words about the asynchronous movement, which will maybe get your attention: The choreographers - Iliko and Nino Sukhishvili (they have the same names like their legendary grandparents - Iliko Sukhishvili & Nino Ramishvili), decided to make it more natural, like a real battle because a melee cannot be synchronized. But the march at the end shows that they can perform it perfectly synchronously. This sometimes very spontaneous/chaotic action is something very spectacular and amazing to watch, especially live. Also, originally no women were in Khorumi, but later Sukhishvili choreographed it separately for women because it's known that in many battles Georgian women were fighting along their husbands and sons. In this production they joined these two dances, and added some elements from different dances, and also changed some of the costume visualization.

KHORUMI is one of the most popular dances from Georgia. It dates back to the period of the heroic war against the conquering armies of the Turks, Mongolians, and other nations. It is composed of four parts: the search for the suitable spot for the fighter of the underground army, the approach of the enemy, the battle and the defeat.

Heroism and romanticism were characteristics of Chabukiani's style both as dancer and choreographer. This said, he also regularly challenged the refined delicacy of ballet and gave male dancers an active leading role in the work. Ultimately, he combined classic ballet with Georgian folk-dance traditions to create a form of dance that is uniquely Georgian.

მე უკვე გავბრაზდი,მაგრამ უცებ რამე არ შევცვალო :)

ხორუმის მწყობრი საიდან სად აქვთ გადასროლილი? და კომბინაციაც შეცვლილი აქვს.

ქალების ხორუმი ხომ ისედაც გააკეთეს,რა აუცილებელი იყო ქალის ხორუმში შეყვანა?ქართულ ტრადიციას,ტრადიცია მარტო სახეელად ხო არ უნდა ერქვას.

ამ ხორუმში კაცები სულ ფრენა-ფრენით მოძრაობენ,გასაგებია რო ქართული ცეკვის ხელოვნება ბალეტის დონეზეა,მარა ბევრ ბალეტს ცეკვავენ,ცოტა ქართულს. უცხოელის თვალს მოეწონება,იმან ხო არ იცის,როგორია სინამდვილეში-ხორუმი.

სიმართლეს ამბობ, თან სამწუხარო სიმართლეს:( განვითარება აუცილებელია, მაგრამ შინაარსი და სახე არ უნდა დაიკარგოს. ყოველთვის მწყინდა, რომ ქალი ყოველთვის მეორეხარისხოვან როლს თამაშობდა ... თუმცა, ჩემი უსაყვარლესი ცეკვა - ქართული(გენიალურია როგორც შინაარსობრივად, ასევე სტილისტურად), სამაია, ნარნარი და ა.შ რაღაც მხრივ კომპენსაციას უკეთებს ამ დანაკლისს. ხორუმმაც დაკარგა თავისი პირვანდელი სახე. ბალეტს რაც შეეხება, პატარა მინიშნება გავაკეთე აღწერაში, საკმაოდ საინტერესოა.

@GeoMaffia ისე მერთალი ხარ დავით, მუღამი ყველაფერშია საჭირო, არა მარტო ცეკვაში. მაგალითად ის განდაგანას ვიდეო, მართალია ძალიან ძველი ჩანაწერია, თუმცა სულ სხვა ხალისითა და რაც მთავარია, სახის გამომეტყველებით ცეკვავენ, ეს კი ბევრ რამეს ნიშნავს. მაგრამ იმედი მაქვს ყველაფერი უკეთესად იქნება, ქართული ცეკვა და სული არასდროს დაკარგავს ამ სილამაზეს :)
