Specs:
Wine version: 1.1.7

Intel E6550 (2,333 GHZ) OCed to 2,8GHZ

The low framerate and the occasional framerate drop are caused by the screencasting program!

There is a Linux version of this game, but since I bought Unreal Anthology which came without a Linux installer I simply run it with Wine!

You need to change in the Wine registry to get the mouse working. Download this register file and open 'regedit'. You find it here: http://www.freewebs.com/dawey/linux.htm

  • why use wine when ut2004 has a linux installer in their CD's?

  • I have the Unreal Anthology pack which doesn't seem to include the Linux installer. And I wanted to test how WINE worked with this game.

  • So, you got it working only adding a registry entry. Very nice :D

  • Yeah, the registrey entry is to force the mouse to stay in the window. But there exists an Linux version of this game, I ust wanted to test it in Wine.

  • I added that to the registry but now I cant click anything in the menu?

  • In UT2004 or in another game?

  • lol yea i got anthology and i couldn't find a linux installer. its funny because i gave it to my friend (windows user att) and then he moved to linux too. and we where puzzled cause there was a linux penguin on the box.

  • You can go download the latest patch and just extract it over top of your UT 2k4 installation folder and the patch comes with linux executables. I've got the files if you want to know more toss me a message on here and I'll tell you how to run it natively in Linux. I am also using a copy from the Anthology disc.

  • @exo232 No but if your operating system fails and dont have the instalation disks linux is good to us ein emergencies.

  • i didn't notice the info box. sorry. It's odd though. my ut had a linux installer in the 5th cd and it worked like charm on my opensuse system.

  • No.

  • I made it full screen and now it works. Thanks :)

Although every time you want to play a different game you have to change it again.
