I recently put a Seymour Duncan Model '59 in the neck of my Ibanez JTK1 Jet-King (see http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gaPrDNiYQQI). My objective with this pickup change was to gain a richer and clearer tone. Objective: complete :D

  • damn that neck pickup sounds good i wish i had one but i have gfs 59 neck on my les paul. so i'm ordering the sh-1 59b instead. but i look forward to getting the matching neck sooner than later.

  • @drivershigh29 I've really liked it. I hope you enjoy your configuration once you get it all set up!

  • Yeah man I think that some more practice would do you some good.

  • @verdictjr lol keep in mind that this video was posted about 2 and a half years ago.

  • Everyone hates line 6 because they're insignificant and they've been told to do so. It's a good amp, it's just that those who can't spell their own names have been told not to state so. Good review, could tell you were nervous about responses, but don't worry about these ladies, you did well.

  • @van1980 thanks! :D

  • @van1980 I partially agree about everyone hating them is mostly true however, I think that the distortion/overdrive/effects are crap. Do like the clean tone though and then I use pedals for effects(when i use a line 6, I use a peavy/crate)

The single silver wire you are talking about is the hot output.

And the sleeve itself is the earth wire.

  • @boredmanaic Hey thanks for the reply. I fitted the pickups (59 set to a friends Ibanez Gio last week). Turns out that it was a vintage single conductor pickup, as in one wire. The metal sheath around the wire was actually the ground. It was a really simple job, and resulted in the best sounding Gio I've ever heard, lol!

  • @shredicon86 eh, i honestly don't know... there are two versions of the pickup, one that has two wires (a wire for the ground and a wire for the pot) and another 4 wire version. Also, i had someone else install the pick-up for me, so i've never seen the wires on this individual pick-up.
