I used to love the Eurovision in those days. It was so unpredictable. For me, the contest lost it's charm from about 1999.

Too bad that Wogan sees fit to comment on the scores at the close of the Finnish jury, because he drowns out the Finnish commentator telling the presenter that Finland is thrilled to meet Sweden the next day in the ice hockey finals in Prague the next day. A wonderful exchange between neighbouring countries, both doing badly - drowned out by statistics.
