Riley's POV

Nick and I were sat in his Hotel room, waiting for his brothers to return home so we could get their help. Things between us were awkward, but I was glad he still cared enough to help.

"Did you see that dude, Nathan Duce, from Youtube?" Joe asked Kevin, un-aware of the situation.
"Yeah, where's he like 'I don't know WITCH way I swing?'" Kevin stated.
"Yeah! That dude rocks!" Joe agreed. "Especially his version of Jackass. Duce-Bag."
"Did you hear that Kat Johnson is gonna be appearing in that?" Kevin asked.
"No way! For real!" Joe said, pumping his fist in the air.
"Totally!" Kevin yelled.
"Ohh." Joe said, looking at me.
"Hey." Nick greeted them.
"I knew you guys would work it out!" Joe said, slapping Nick on the back.
"We're not back together." Nick said, quickly.

I remained still on the bed, huddled inside my sweater, staring at the floor. I knew I looked a mess. My hair was tied into a scruffy ponytail, and my eyes were sore from crying.

"What's going on then?" Kevin asked.
"It's Carl." Nick said.
"Oh that guy." Joe said.

I felt like crying, but I had to remain strong. I had once thought of Kevin and Joe as brothers and it seemed as though they hated me now. I had hurt so many people, doing one foolish thing.

"He's hitting Riley." Nick stated. "I need your help.
"The abusive boyfriend already, didn't take long." Joe pondered aloud.
"We're not together." I snapped.

I had been saying that to myself all day, it seemed almost reflex. Kevin walked towards me and wrapped me into a hug. He always seemed to know how to make anyone feel better. I leaned into him and burst into tears.

"Woah Kev. You know how to make the girls swoon." Joe laughed.
"Shut up Joe!" Kevin said. "Can't you see how scared she is."
"How can we fix this?" Nick asked.
"We could tell the guy to leave Riley alone." Joe suggested.
"He's her manager, not gonna work." Kevin said. "Maybe we should phone Hayley." he said.
"No!" I wailed. "She doesn't know!"
"Phone the police?" Nick suggested.
"I think that's best. Your gonna have to explain what happened Riley." Kevin said.

I shook my head and climbed from the bed. I walked into the bathroom and shut the door.

"How do you know she isn't faking?" Joe asked Nick. "She could be trying to get back with you."
"I've seen the bruises." Nick stated.
"Riley wouldn't do that!" Kevin said, angered.
"You never know. She looks desperate."
"Don't speak about her like that!" Nick yelled, towards Joe.
"Chill bro. I'm just looking out for you and your crazy ex-girlfriends."
"Riley isn't crazy." Nick said.
"Shut up Joe. Your making things worse." Kevin stated.
"I think Nick still loves her." Joe mused.
"I'm right here Joe!" Nick said. "And I don't still love her, but I don't want to see her get hurt."
"Yeah right. Your in love man." Joe teased.
"I DON'T LOVE RILEY!" Nick yelled.

I walked out of the door to see Nick up in Joe's face. Everybody turned towards me as tears streamed down my cheeks, un-stoppable. Nick tried to walk towards me but I moved away.

"Thanks." I whispered, before slamming the door behind me and storming into the elevator.
