@plokijuhujiko Actually, I cannot speak for other religions, but Christians believe that sickness, suffering, and death are all caused by human sin. But those squid, eels, they are just another creature of God's creation. Just because you particularly are afraid of them, means nothing. And speaking of looking at the universe, how can it make sense that time, space, matter and energy sprang forth out of nothingness, bound by unchanging specific constant numbers and laws?

Intelligent design...lamprey eels, malaria, earthquakes, tapeworms, testicular cancer, rabies, chiggers, black holes, the humboldt squid. Ahhhh...it's so comforting being an atheist. If I did believe that some force was intentionally designing the universe, I'd be scared shitless all the time because that force would be A REALLY SADISTIC ASSHOLE!
