"Visual Urban Data: A Journey Through Oakland Crimespotting," a talk by Michael Migurski at the Knight Digital Media Center's Technology Training for Reporters Workshop at the UC Berkeley Graduate School of Journalism on April 16, 2008.
Migurski, the technology head at Stamen, a San Francisco design and development studio focused on data visualization and map-making, uses his knowledge of data design and publishing, public research projects and active open source code bases to describe how he created the Oakland Crimespotting web site.
