No matter what our views on the war, we can all agree that the words Homeless and Veterans should never be used in the same sentence. You can help support homeless veterans and help a trio of artists by downloading their song "Coming Home to Me" from iTunes, Rhapsody or Amazon (links below). Written by a struggling musician, a bankrupt writer and a disabled lyricist, "Coming Home to Me" is a song of hope and love inspired by a photo of troops returning from Iraq. It's dedicated to the men and women of the U.S. Armed Forces, and the families who wait for their return home.

A portion of the profits from every download will be donated to the National Coalition for Homeless Veterans (www.nchv.org).

The song's musician/composer is Larry Milton, and the writer is Andy Fruit. The lyricist was Elaine Jope, Larry's wife. Sadly, Elaine died unexpectedly before the production was completed and never had the chance to hear the polished, finished version of the last song she worked on.

If you have $.99 to spare and don't mind downloading music, please visit one of the links below and buy "Coming Home to Me". And if you could forward this message to anyone you know who might have a friend or loved one in the service...or might spend a buck on a tune to help vets...please send it along.

Thanks!

  • Just want to say that my husband is a veteran and now that our time in the army is done homeless is just what we will be with our three kids at least for 6 months so we can readjust our life in another state.

  • Hey Larry. You have created a beautiful and moving piece of music, and the sentiments are expressed perfectly. There are so many who can relate to this song, and that is, as you, one of the key reasons we create what we do. I'm happy for you and wish you the best with this. The most important thing is that you will touch many. Happy New Year and hope to work with you in one way or another one of these days. Sincerely & musically, Sharon DiFronzo

  • Thank you Larry. I'm sorry for the loss of your wife and wish you the best with what you are doing with your life. Every time someone writes a song, a poem, a message or anything that responds to the heartbreak of war, hopefully those who hear and are struggling with the war inside will respond positively.

  • i am a daughter of a vietnam vet who did four tours in country and have family members serving now the scariest time is when there away and the happiest is when they come home but i know the fear of homelessness i am disabled and still live with parents and we wonder every month if we will have enough to make bills and eat i believe every vet should be gauranteed housing after serving there country i think its a terible injustice that anyone that served has to even worry about being homelss
