No VFX in this one. Happened to be walking by a dog park off Quincy in Aurora, CO on September 28th, 2010 when some smoke started. Turns out it wasn't a brush fire, it was a car that ran through the park and crashed into the waterway.

Update: Everyone involved survived! Also added the news article link.

  • Thanks for getting htis on film we were part of the crew on scene and heard it looked pretty impresive from a distance. can't provide any other info due to confidentiality issues, sorry.

  • @switzforge We didn't even realize it was more than a dog fight/bite until way too many police cars, ambulances, and fire trucks started rolling in. Then noticed the smoke/smell. If there was a report on it last night I must have missed it...

  • I was at Quincy the day this happened. Pretty crazy stuff.

  • I only added this to my favorites because it's a reminder of how the people we know can go through so much. My cousin is the friend of the daughter of the woman in this crash and I personally have met her. She is a very sweet woman and I am so glad she has survived! Her light has not be snuffed out and we are all relieved...

  • Lt. Chuck DeShazer with the Aurora Police Department says it appears the woman, who has not been identified, dropped off her husband and their dogs at the park and started to drive away. Investigators say the woman then accelerated, smashed through several nearby fences, before crashing into a concrete barrier that might be connected to the reservoir's spillway. The car burst into flames, igniting a small grass fire, according to DeShazer. 9news.com
