At Wembley Stadium, Wembley, London on Friday 9 December 2011, the Football Association (FA) of England and the Special Olympics GB signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU). Signing for these organizations were Jeff Davis (FA National Disability Development Manager) as well as Karen Wallin (Chief Executive) and Lawrie McMenemy MBE and for Special Olympics GB
This Understanding will help to create a player pathway from local to international competition for current and future learning disabled footballers. The FA and Special Olympics are committed to ensuring that anyone who wants to play can play.
Special Olympics GB is the country's largest sports training and competition programme for children and adults with learning disabilities. Special Olympics is not the Paralympics.
