I personally feel that Betty, historically speaking, is underrated and, I hope, that some day, she will finally be recognized for the enormous all around talent that she was. I also firmly believe that she is the most 'modern' star from the 40s era and that is why there are so many young people today that admire her.

I love both Hutton and Ball, but prefer to watch Betty ... maybe because there is not nearly as much film of her as compared to Lucy.

After viewing this, it is obvious that Hutton had as much if not MORE comedic talent than Lucille Ball. Whereas Ball had complete control over her emotions and would not let a man take advantage of her after Desi, Hutton had emotional problems, extreme insecurities and many, many problems with men. Both women never knew their fathers, though came through their careers much differently. Ball was 10 years older and, as an older woman, was ripe for TV ... Hutton didn't have such luck.

I remember reading an article once that said that Betty was everything that Lucille Ball aspired to be. Lucy, of course, had more success with it though (on TV at least).
