@Gimmeaflakeman no its not moronic lol. I like j4m alot and I plan to watch all of the videos. I just want to understand japanese effectively and most of all speak it effectively.

In this sentence it is used to stress or emphasize the verb -- and usually giving it a negative tone or nuance.
You know you could use a dictionary too, right?
-
@Gimmeaflakeman yes but whare the other meanings besides the one i mentioned?
-
@1matth3w1 You are right but...Shimau has other meanings.

@1matth3w1
I think you're confused. Maybe you mean "chatte"? That's the more informal version of (shite)shimatta.

@Gimmeaflakeman im not confused its just that ive never herd shimau used that way before i usually hear sure chau to emphasize something that they regret like densha ni noriokurechatta yo!: something like that.. also its hard to look at the dictionary when a language changes every couple of years.

@1matth3w1
OK. You're not confused. But you said surechatte... and that would not be used ... maybe a typo.
Sigh...The language does not change every couple of years. I've been using the same dictionary I bought over 20 years ago.
Maybe my channel is too moronic for you.
