A short film including videos and pictures showing the redevelopment of the football ground.

And if 'Phase 2' does commence, it will signal the end of all character and individuality at Home Park - leaving us with yet another soulless non-place of a stadium reflecting nothing about the city or the club.

  • Why show the WALKERS STADUIM

  • As an example of a bland bowl - like 3/4 of HP.

  • All true but i would rather have a decent looking stadium with a non restricted view of the pitch and a team pushing for a place in the top flight. The grand stand needs to go asap to complete the bowl, upgrade the excisting facilities and allow the chance to increase corperate revenue.

By the way.... i stood on the terrace in front of the Mayflower stand for that game against Derby just below Sir Barry Davis...It will be missed but let's move on.

Green army and welcome home Luggy

  • Fair points, but I'd argue what is the club now? with no identity at H.P, no fun or buzz can be had in the ground (being fixed to a seat is not fun) what exactly are we supporting? Going to football has never been JUST about the players. Its the match experience and that has been wrecked - Firstly in the Premiership, now encroaching on Divisions 1,2 and 3.

  • get over it!

  • very helpful and constructive comment there..

  • i love old english stadiums

im an argyle fan and i hope city keep ashton gate, you never know what you have got until its gone :(

  • Your an idiot. Its got nothing to do with progression. Its about choice. How would an old stand drag you back?

RIP home park. Another proper English football ground lost thanks to the prawn sandwich eating totalitarian twats at the fa. They are totally out of touch with the average football fan.

  • Bit of a silly video seeing as the Taylor report clearly states that no terraced structures can be used in the highest division, i'd rather see the greens keep improving their league posistion and maybe reach promotion rather than dwell on the past with the old stand and go nowhere.

plus the video says the stadium capacity will be lower.... we struggle to get 12,000 through the gates on a saturday anYway!!!

    COME ON YOU GREENS

  • It's already ruined. Yes, the Mayflower remains...but the once great 'standing area' at the front has how had seats bolted onto it so it's already lost its clarity. Yet another nail in the coffin of what we used to know as football. And to say the club still want standing is ludicrous. They don't like the likes of me going to matches. They want middle class, prawn sandwich eating twats who don't sing and behave like they're at Wimbledon Centre Court. No atmos, no singing. Worst ground ever now.

  • Got a lump in me throat ere mate! fantastic video. im a liverpool fan and i hate to see old grounds disapeer forever. they should grade list the old stand as an example of craftsmanship of days gone by! Fulham has a grade II listed stand along with the cottage aswell. when is somebod going to relise before its too late!

  • Those seats are terrible and give me very bad cramp. There should be a standing area for the "taller" gent.

  • Sparksy rocks, i listen every saturday from my home in London, even when i visit HP i have sparks on my walkman. His insight to the game is incredible.

  • the fans make the atomsphere at homepark. i think the grandstand makes the club lok bad aswell cos it is just old and tatty.

  • its sad to see hopefully some day the FA will cop on and put standing areas to every english stadium.

  • The stadium needs upgrading at the moment it looks messy, It also catches the wind and makes the experience unenjoyable.
