LL Cool J goes back to 1967 to find out this groovy jam by Sly & The Family Stone called "A Trip To Your Heart" and get its choir for his "Mama Said Knock You Out". Moreover, still unsatisfied, he adds the most sampled break of all time, James Brown's "Funky Drummer", and the bomb is served. That's how you can get your own version with Ableton, in just 3 minutes. Have fun, rate, comment and share on your blog if you like!

@TSMontana well not to take anything away from Marley, he just looped his sample, and did some filtering on it, and did a really solid mixdown (as always!)... i find what Spiller did really amazing tho... its like a tru musical collage... stuff that would've been pretty cumbersome to do back in the day...

Amazing that modern tools can do what Marley Marl & LL did 20 years ago.
