they never pass the ball out the back these days, if they only did that we might win more

Simon was such a great player. So entertaining to watch because he had pace and was fearless. A warrior indeed and there's no one like him in my view.

What a fantastically exciting talent. A huge waste in that Irish team. If he had come along 10 years later (and been injury free) he would surely have joined the true all time greats of the game - every bit as good as Brian O'Driscoll - just very unlucky with injures and the team he played on! He gave us some great memories though! Legend!

I remember that game - England hardly ever lost to Celtic nations in the early 90s, and virtually never at all at Twickenham. Great try and a great result
-
i remember reading somewhere this was the first pass he had received in an attacking play in about 5 straight 5N matches and he wasn't going to muck it up.
-
the try was scored in the same year as i was born so i never watched him live but he really looked amazing back

if an octopus could run, it would run like him lol

The late great Bill Mclaren was a huge fan of his

I was there, it was one of the great tries and result and one of the best nights out after, thank you simon!!
Geogegan could have been one of the greatest wingers in world rugby except (a) he only received about 7 decent passes in his entire Ireland career and (b) he injured his big toe and had to retire. He was truly brilliant.

Underwood hadn't the pace..... Callard hadn't the power.......
A unique commentary piece to suit the class of the player scoring.
Well done, G. Hamilton. :)
