Also dont complain about having the car not having any computers. This is a real car, raw and pure, not hampered by technology so idiots can drive them without killing themselves. And, the interior and driving position are secondary to the meaning of the car, and therefore not negatives or positives. You dont buy a car like this with your head, only your heart.

@Spicewood515 I know what they offer & I am not bashing them in any way. Someone that knows what they are doing can build one hell of a car but there are disadvantages in any kit car because the quality varies based on who built it. The Superformance is much more consistent on build quality & you are all but guaranteed to get a 1st class car but you do pay for that. Lots of people have more money than time & would prefer a known quality product & are willing to pay not have to mess with building

@inagod, you still are misinformed. The original Factory Five premise was you have a 1989 to 1993 Mustang and you can build a kit. You might want to checkout the website and see what they have now. They are more period correct than anything out there period. The body is not a structural unit, even the SPF has square tubing and heavy fiiberglass body whereas the FFR uses aircraft riveted aluminum like the original.

@Spicewood515 You can't really even compare this to FF. They are not even aimed at the same customers. These are basically complete cars for wealthy people that want a high quality toy. They also have much higher resale value because of the consistent build quality but you pay out the nose for that. FF is aimed at people that want to do it themselves to save $ or simply want to & can build it themselves but build quality varies wildly which effects their reputation & resale value. Who built it?

@Spicewood515 They are a body & chassis that use Mustang parts to complete. A talented builder can build a very nice car but they are kits that turn out good or bad based on the builders ability. Yea, you can put a closer to original engine in it but it is still a KIT, just like the old VWs. Granted, they are better quality than the old kits but no matter how you twist it they are not factory cars. Superformance is a high quality factory car that has the running gear installed after importation

@inagod Don't get me wrong, I am not bashing Factory Five in any way. They can be great little cars if they are put together by someone that does it correctly and you don't care about it being close to the original but they are simply not in the same class as this car.

@inagod You get what you pay for. Yea, the Factory Five is a cheap fun car but you essentially have a re-bodied mustang. This is a very high quality factory built reproduction with some updates. You cant really compare the two. The Factory Five is a kit car in every way. This is shipped to the US W/O running gear so it can be registered as a kit but it is basically a complete high quality factory built car with approved contractors to complete the running gear once the car is legally imported.

Can't believe some of you guys are saying this is a cheap replica lol I believe the last original to be sold went for over 5.5 million at auction, and to be honest there are alot of exact replica cars out there, and I mean exact to the last nut and bolt, and some that can out perform the original, and they buy or build them for the love and respect of the original cars. It's a tribute to the cars they love and you gotta respect that either way.

you need to check out the Factory five Daytona coupe a fraction of the price,about 20,000 us dollars comes with everything,bolt in a mustang drivechain,engine,trans and 3 or 4 link rear and away you,at 2200 lbs it is fast.

This is the Superformance Coupe car,it has Shelby's blessings because they paid for it.This car is larger and more of a road car than the FFR 65 kit.The FFR is closer to the original though,it's more similar in size and shape,doesn't have as much finish to the interior,hasn't got power windows,etc.It's also around 2/3rd the cost to build,and that's if you spend the money on a rousch motor. The Superformance comes as a rolling chassis without driveline is all.
