At 5:03, while approaching the T/D I notice you will be changing the Altitude from 29000 in the MCP. Why is this needed? You also mention any value can be entered for e.g 2000 feet. If the FMC has all the altitude details why should there be any human intervention to change the altitude. It also necessitates the PILOT to keep an eye on the approach to T/D. Doesnt this defeat the whole purpose of Autopilot and VNAV? This is a sincere question and I am trying to understand.

This is a good question and nice observations. The FMC will never override the MCP. I know that it may seem self defeating but remember that the system is designed as an aid and not a complete takeover. Changing the MCP altitude is your way of telling the FMC "Yes go ahead and do what I told you to do" a final check and balances approach if you will.If you didnt change the MCP you would get a message from the FMC alerting you to the fact that it cant go lower and you need to approve it.

As the pilot it is still your responsibility to monitor and take over the approach in full autopilot in the event of an error . So even during the landing phase you are still keeping an eye on everything and your concentration should never be relaxed just because the AP is doing all the work. When your driving in the car with the speed control on your still keeping an eye on the road and speed its just your overall work load thats reduced. Same thing here. Hope that clears it up.

God!! it's so boring listening to you, but i have to admit, i am learning much better and faster with your clips than any others...I am new to PMDG, i was using only default Aircrafts without FMC...

WTurbiasz awesome tutorial, rly helps me!
now i got 1 problem with this:
i cant program a speed restriction in the fmc on CHIPZ or even on KIMME.
when i hit 170/ on chipz (LSK5) its says "invalid entry" in the scratch pad.
can u help me out with this guys?

Make sure that you are trying to place the speed restricion on the Right not on the Left of the FMC which I think is what your trying to do. So if it says CHIPZ on the left and 300/5000 on the right you would need to place the 170/ into the line select keys on the right . Trying it to place it on the left the FMC thinks your trying to add a waypoint called 170/ which of course is not valid
