Ballistic stretches, bouncing, is an advanced technique designed to surpass one,s stretch reflex and develope super flexibility. It's often used by dancers and martial artists. It is best used by people who are extremely well conditioned and who already have very good Range Of Movement. Personally I wouldn't recommend it to my clients because repeatedly activating the stretch reflex can cause the muscle to tighten. Make-sure you warm up properly before performing any stretching routine.

Ok, im very confused. Isn't it common knowledge that you NEVER bounce??? I'm a bit concerned that you would suggest this, especially in a back stretch of all things!!

this stretch is wrong lol, bouncing isn't good, it can damage your muscles and cause injury, it's best to just stretch and hold it and then go a little further after. if you want to stretch your back just do the Crab or Bridge and then roll it out or lye on the floor on your front and then let your arms hold your body up and it should stretch your back :)
