I thought for sure I had a crazy owl...and just today I saw the bird sitting on the wire in yard. Came in a started to research and it seems I had been blessed with a mourning dove....a very loud and persistant mourning dove. :)

For much of my life, I thought the sound of the mourning dove was that of an owl, but then I realized most owls wouldn't be awake at the time of day when I normally hear it.

But that aside, mourning doves drive me insane. Even with my windows closed I can hear them, and more often than not, they're what wakes me up in the morning.
