Before you shop in another store or use another businesss services, theres a website that can help you get your moneys worth. Palmettobizbuzz.com lets Upstate consumers post reviews on local companies.

You can see their reviews for free and customers say that can prevent you from getting ripped off.

Gary Hammond says he started getting new customers at the Augusta Road Pet Hotel who saw it listed on this http://www.palmettobizbuzz.com.

Said Hammond, When people are looking for a business, they can type in a zipcode and type in kennels or boarding or grooming and up comes a whole list of local businesses.

Palmetto Biz Buzz lists only businesses located in South Carolina and lets consumers write reviews. Said Hammond, They get a chance to go back on that site and actually say what they think about you, which is awesome because in my case, its been absolutely wonderful.

Listings are free to the business and consumers, but companies can beef up their ad for $25 a month.

Hammond says hes even stopped advertising in the phone book because he says hes getting more customers through Palmetto Biz Buzz.

Said shopper Callie Dodson, Ive looked for different kennels, dance schools for my daughter, restaurants in the area. Dodson says reading the consumer reviews saves her time and money.

Said Dodson, I think you can find it a little more dependable than an ad on the radio or television. You can see what real people have written about the company.

Only businesses who pay the $25 a month can write rebuttals to negative reviews. But Palmetto Biz Buzz says it asks the reviewer to show proof they were a customer and verifies their experience with the company.

But Hammond says the postive buzz has kept his business buzzing.
