  • What is a "design mockup"???

  • @poddypoldi it's a prototype that the design team has done to show how the things should work on the future. But unfortunately implementation can't always match the design :(

  • is that 11.10?ubuntu thats awesome.

  • @gck86 No, just a design mockup

  • Lack of good multi-monitor support has always been one of the top complaints I've heard leveraged against Unity. Hopefully this will take care of that and eliminate one more reason to look elsewhere.

  • @ecafredrummailliw I like the top panel of it, so what I did, is I forced it to hide using compiz, then I used an alternate dock. Ciaro-Dock to be specific....

  • @Thatguywhoexists i've been thinking about trying it out. to be honest i like how unity looks, i've just had a lot of problems with it unfortunately.

  • @ecafredrummailliw Man, xubuntu is pretty great, i have to say.

Try it out some time, I liked mint, but, xubuntu just seems... better

I don't feel like researching it from a technical perspective, I just like Xfce

  • @Thatguywhoexists I already know that :)

  • bello me late tu estilo jenial espero tener un ordenador tan poderoso como el de tuyo salu2 xD

  • @Spamazoid sudo apt-get install software-center

    Lulz.

  • @3v1n0 Isn't everything on linux a design mockup?

  • @ecafredrummailliw agree except for Mint's software manager which is slow and buggy. Ubuntu's app store is the way to go, mix that with Mint and you have an awesome distro

  • Wonder if anyone ever told the guys, if you stare that close you will ruin your eyes

  • @ecafredrummailliw I disagree. I use Unity almost all the time on both my laptop and my desktop (both running Ubuntu 12.04) and have no usability problems with it. In addition, I've tried Mint before but didn't care for it; if I wanted an alternate distro, elementary OS would be the right way to go IMHO.
