Born in Berlin in 1928,Fred Licht made his name as an art historian and as the curator of the Peggy Guggenheim Collection - the man who brought contemporary art to Venice. As the son of Jewish parents,Licht had to flee Germany as a child. Now,at the age of 80,he has just written his first novel. We meet up with Fred Licht in Venice, where he shows us his favorite artworks - and tells the story of how the art revolution swept into this grand old Italian city.
