  • I just have never heard that driving causes hip problems in horses - we have a horse on our drill team that is 22 years old and is going strong. I am only familiar with pleasure horses, so maybe the person who posted the comment was talking about horses used for commercial carriage rides. Those horses have to work a lot harder that ones used for pleasure driving.

  • Cute, but sad that most driving horses develop hip problems.

  • I have never heard that driving causes hip problems, if it did it would seem strange that many people turn their retired saddle horses into driving horses! Driving is less stressful on the horse's joints and they do not have to carry weight on their back.

  • I have, and just ask a vet about it.

  • what did the vet say caused hip problems in driving horses?

  • The announcer was very rude to the talents of the mini's and not knowing what it takes to have a good driving steed! Cute, I like!

  • I love drill team! My horse trainer used to do drill team on the horse I ride now.

  • YER I NO

I HATE IT WEN PPL DO THAT

  • I learned "they usually end up with hip problems" back in 1999...but talk to any vet for possible complications/information. I love minis and have owned driving horses as well. They are wonderful horses and so much fun for driving. The video is entertaining! Thanks for sharing it.

  • I do not breed - I just have a few Minis. Yes, driving is great fun. Performing with a drill team is exciting; the audience seems to really enjoy watching our team. I am glad you enjoyed the video - and that it has started you thinking about driving some of your horses - good luck.
