Whats the difference between screen and dodge and why do you prefer screen for lightening areas?
Great Series! :D

Dodging and burning lightens and darkens pixels. It doesn't alter hue. If I want some reflected color in a shadow, I might want to multiply with some of that color, instead of burn.
When working in grayscale, I will frequently just use dodge and burn.
Also, multiply and screen will actually build up opacity on subsequent passes. Dodge and burn will only increase or decrease the value, not the opacity. You can change a 10% opacity pixel from white to black, but it will still only be 10% opacity.
