Love this conversation! From my perspective, I do not want to focus in on one aspect and pit one thing against the others. I believe for each step, we must have the whole picture in mind. It must benefit the whole. We cannot address one area without addressing the broader terrain. Everything is connected to everything.
We need to restore trust in our government but those in government have long stop caring about the good of the country. It has all become about the good of self and personal power. Power over others, money and self importance. Our country and the people who voted them into office are of no concern. We need to get rid of those in power in order to restore our country to power!
I'd disagree with Mr. Madrick on the most important issue today, but I do agree that our government is paralyzed. Imagine a government that represents the people, not the corporations or the plutocracy. Such a government can only be achieved by electoral reform, which includes hand counted paper ballots, open ballot access, open debates, proportional representation and public campaign finance. The healing process can only begin by restoring a true representative democracy.
