  • the elbow is mainly used as 3 ways

    1. (To cut through opponents defense when his guard is up - the main reason)

    2. As a counter-attack (Opponent jabs, you block, return with elbow)

    3. In combination (eg jab, cross, hook, elbow)

This move comes from Muay Thai or Thai Kickboxing. One of the most brutal and physically challenging martial art styles

  • It seems like you should transfer your weight as you do when you are punching, but this will risk forcing you to land the strike on your forearm. Rotate, but do not shit your weight. Think of your elbows like a box cutter. Just rake the the head with your elbow. You can shift into elbows and forearms directed to the body.

  • streetkunedo--- "great for students to pick up. Excellent teaching skills."

Yes, And that is why he is know as the TEACHER OF THE TEACHERS. He is an internationally recognised speaker apart from being an 8th degree black belt!!

  • Not really cause my brother was gonna do that before we joined Martial Arts but you have to learn how to hold your body and breath, stuff like that, it is just so much easier to have a trainer who can show you. ;)

  • That was Muay Thai or Sanda 101. He threw a straight up boxing cross and called it a reverse punch. It is funny how these traditional styles really just want to be boxing, Muay Thai, and BJJ.

  • is it even possible to learn martial arts online unless you have a professional trainer with you?

  • Nice, great for students to pick up. Excellent teaching skills.
