This debate discusses the opinions of the Ulima on the issue of Moon Sighting during the month of Ramadhan.

Unfortunately the majority Muslim community in Britain, do not have any knowldge of how and when the moon is to be sighted. Majority of the public feel that they should follow Saudi Arabia, however according to the quran and Sunnah you do not have to. here is a website below whereby you can find more information about this:

I was astounded to watch over 200 Molanas swearing that they have witness who had sighted the mood on the 19th sept. In DI Khan the difference between sunset and moon set was 4 minutes. Peshawar it was 3 minutes. Gilgit no difference.and in Karachi it was about 10 minutes. to sight the moon we need at least 45 minutes difference. It was impossible to sight the moon anywhere in Pakistan. Iran. Afganistan . Dont have to lie. Just Admit that they ll only follow the Almanac as Saudia dose.
