Has anybody had success using alcohol to prime it instead of petrol?
The msr website says it is possible and it is supposed to reduce soot deposits compared to any of the other fuels but i plan to test my whisperlight internationale with 99 percent isoproply alcohol - rubbing alcohol, unless i can see any reason not to, as i have read the 70 percent works well for priming.

great idea about the funnel. reuses an empty water bottle!

Great video, full of lots of good tips. I've just purchased an MSR Whisperlite International here in the UK, I normally use meths stoves, which can be hard to light in cold weather. A problem that I don't seem to have with the white -gas stove.

Thanks! Great video. I just bought the MSR International and, frankly, i was a little intimidated by it because the instructions are not very wordy. You've made it much simpler to understand by doing the demo along with following the instructions. I'm ready to take the stove on my next trip now. Awesome job, and thanks again! -Mike

very helpful.. i have this stove but never could really get the flame right,, probably because i was allowing to much fuel in the prime cup below. i just bought the jet boil, but i will keep the wisperlite and try to refine my use of it so it burns a clean blue flame. whats the best stove out there for light weight and easy use ?

Thanks! Just dragged out my 'antique' Whisperlite (purchased around 1986) for my son who's now a Boy Scout. Needed the refresher, as I haven't used it in 15 or more years - works like a charm!
Great video! One question, I have a backpacking oven. Would this stove work well to burn at a consistant temperature to bake food for aprox. 12 minutes?

@CDoggsRandoms You can only get one good burn temperature from this stove. So if you wanted to have your oven on 'high' then it may work. The burn time is a function of the fuel canister you use.
