I've done these and they rant as easy as they look, I did some other things too though...

In a sense you're correct - I forgot to include 'for the abs'.
So, if 2 minutes of pushups is easier than 2 minutes of plank for your abs, disregarding all other muscles, you're very likely to be sagging (easing the strain on your abs).
Standing in a pushup position without doing pushups should be easier than the plank position, for some physical reason I can't think of right now, and if one finds the plank position easier then one is missing something important somewhere. Agreed?

@Jouwl planks seem harder because they are isometric anaerobic exercise which quickly exhaust cp-atp energy stores. push ups with good form work all energy systems of the core (TrA, InfOb, Mult, SemiSp, and Rot), and accessory mm which facilitate the core (diaphragm, pelvic floor, non core abs). So basically, if 2 minutes of plank is easier than two mins of pushups, your pushup form is shit.

They forget to mention the important parts, damit.

Pushups for 2 minutes is easier than plank for 2 minutes unless your plank form is shit.

leg lifts exercise iliopsoas primarily, which adversely pull on the lumbar discs.
better to do bicycle crunches, which activate rectus and obliques better.
all this is in the sports science literature.
-
why do a boring plank for 2 minutes when your core gets a better workout from a well performed set of pushups.

awesome!!
