Interesting, but he did not cover what I felt is the main issue made in Rob Bell's book, for example the meaning of the word eternal. Rob Bell also did not deny that there is hell, and that people would be sent there. So a lot of the things this gentleman highlighted did not really get to the heart of the matter. Although I must say I was delighted by the way in which he tried to be fair to Rob Bell as a person, and did not get involved in the character assassination so many like to engage in!
Thanks Dr. Peterson for your excellent explanation about the gospel and eternal judgment. I really appreciate your gentleness and conviction on these subjects. I especially agree with your point that we cannot rewrite the story of the Bible. In a post modern era that often encourages the rewriting of history, it is encouraging to hear a sensible Biblical scholar amidst the noise of nonsense. (Pastor Don Robertson (Faith Community Church, Texas)
This man is very soft spoken and kind, unlike other pastors who talk of Bell like they have a boxing match scheduled the next month. But still, this man didn't say anything that everybody else hasn't said. "What universalists do, is select passages and use them out of context" But that's what traditionalist pastors do as well, & they also fail to identify the meaning of the word "hell" everytime it is used, and in every passage. How can 4 words mean the same thing? Eternal punishment?
very well put Dr. Peterson. Thank you for clearing up some things for me.

Exactly, thank you Dr. Peterson. We as pastors and shepherds must make the gospel crystal clear. There is absolutely no reason to cloud the waters.

Bob Peterson is such an excellent teacher. this is exactly how he teaches in class. He is bold with the truth, but never in an angry or hateful way.

@MarkToTheSky I saw your post and just wondered if you have read Dr. Peterson's book on the subject of hell?
