  • @pattimylove Susan Watson....Broadway's Darling of the Sixties. Got to see her play Nanette in No No Nanette after the producers fired Carol Demas out of town. No one captured the naive ingenue as Miss Watson did.

  • Explaining Merman today is difficult as there's no one to compare her with for example. She was very good to her fans. Two friends of mine timidly knocked on her trailer door backstage at the St. Louis Muny Opera, as it was known then, and ended up sharing a warm and wonderful hour with her. They told me she was totally natural, answered all their questions, and a lot of laughs. They couldn't believe they'd actually met her and that she was so generous. Susan Watson was also one-of-a-kind.

  • Yes, Susan Watson was in Celebration.

  • is this the one that played in "Celebration" on broadway... by Jones and Schmidt.

do you know where i might find any videos, or play reviews or anything at all about it, i would greatly appreciate if you'd share

  • Wow! What a treat! Thanks!

  • nobody has commented on Susan Watson....... I loved her from the first time I heard "One Boy". And the Merm is just amazing. THANK YOU FOR POSTING THIS!

  • Wow I never knew merm did a pilot

  • Bless you for this. Most of Merm's best stuff was live, never taped, and younguns today have only seen clips of when she was long past her prime, thereby judging harshly or dismissing. There was NEVER a performer like Merm.
