  • Loving this model, certainly unique and looks built to last. Roughly, how many fans have you got in your collection overall now?

  • @chrisgranton Around 50-60 fans now

  • this cafe near me has this fan and it seams to be never off.. its either on low when the cafe is quiet or when it is busy they put it on high. even at night they leave it on low.

  • cool extractor fan

just wondering, is this model a single frequency (50Hz) or a dual-frequency model (both 50Hz/60Hz) like i've seen in some Xpelair extractor fans on videos and photos.

  • DJC007 heres a document on the various names for the "xpelair" it gives you brief history on the trademark view this site : tdr.uspto.gov/search.action?sn=73253949# and click the document to download called unclassified i feel this one shows more of the logo history which i think you;ll enjoy reading!

  • DJC007 ive found some documents about patents which might help you with who made what it appears not all components of xpelair are british : go to patentsdotcom and search for these three numbers us-6276895,us-2649272,us-7326108

  • And a lil bit of interesting things ive found out about the xpelair brand : "Xpelair" first fan was given that name but the manufacturer was woods of colchester uk aka FlaktWoods nowadays early history of the xpelair brand it used to be called Air-Xpelaire in the USA under the GEC history and in some foreign countries like pakistan they have a product called Expelaire which is version of a extractor fan

  • Theres one of these in my town still working and that building is falling apart but serves as a solicitors still today although the building was there in the 40's

  • Thats a beauty!! I had no idea that this model existed. Love the shutter too.

  • Wow, yet another great find. A true Xpelair classic. Compare this to the manufacturers current window models... Can't believe how substantially built it is, especially those huge blue blades. I recall seeing 6" versions of these too, although they seem to be quite rare now. PS have you spotted the vintage magazine advert for the Vent Axia Universal Range on eBay for a fiver? More videos of more fans please!!
