  • I love this Band....

  • @bignose16 Agreed. It's a travesty. I don't begrudge U2 their success, but the Chams were/are every bit as groundbreaking and brilliant. The timing for them to break out commercially just wasn't right.

Yep, its almost a bloody mystery why The Chameleons werent rocking stadiums like U2. Then you remember some of what passed for pop storming the 80s charts. Meanwhile aforementioned giant 80s rock act now avail themselves of tax havens for crazy money. What a culture.

  • I'm so ready to see Mark Burgess in NYC! nothing you can do I guess if you can't see the original line up get yourself well serve with his voice and the old great songs!

  • @ChameleonsFan I recognized the themes from The Reegs but didn't know that Reg was the artist. Thanks for the info. It's always interesting to learn more about the history behind the Chams.

  • @thenameisbond The Chameleons had two guitar players, Reg Smithies and Dave Fielding. The combination of their playing is perceived as pure magic by countless music lovers and is definitely a major cause for the Chameleons' ongoing popularity. Consequently, after the band had split for the first time, Reg and Dave kept on playing together and formed the Reegs.

Reg is responsible for both bands' artwork. To be honest, I prefer his musical abilities over his achievements as a painter.

  • @autoerratica it's on the studio track from Script
